I submitted for an online reality show - AND I WON!
My answer would, therefore, be “YES”. But seriously, what harm could it do to put in for the show?
I don’t know if you know my story or not, but I originally was against auditioning for Joel Comm’s Next Internet Millionaire. It was because of two things that I finally changed my mind.
First - my parents kept hounding me. They were convinced that my being on that show was exactly what I needed. In fact, they said it was made for me.
Secondly - what I was doing wasn’t working for me. I was working away at my cubicle job - moving up the ladder. It wasn’t hell - but I wasn’t happy. I knew I wanted more but I didn’t know how to get it.
Most people just need a kick in the butt to get themselves going.
“the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again - and expecting different results” - Albert Einstein
Think about that… and if you’re looking for a change in your life. As Nike says… “JUST DO IT”!
BTW: you can read all about my experiences on The Next Internet Millioniare, the other contestants, and how I got myself out of the cubicle. Check out my book on Amazon!
Earlier this month I visited Orlando for my first JV Alert Live seminar. It was fun for so many reasons:
I did my first speaking engagement. Ken McArthur was kind enough to let me present on the Saturday. Wow - I never thought I could be that nervous. I wasn’t nervous until the night before, but I managed to get through it and I actually enjoyed it.The theme song I used was Dolly Parton’s 9 to 5 and I had the crowed up and singing. Of course I turned my mic off - no need for a concert. They were so supportive and, afterwards, I got a standing ovation - very nice.
When Infomedia was presenting, they did something unusual - but very fun and informative. They had the entire crowd (full of big-wigs) create a product. It’s called Instant JV Secrets, and it’s an ebook filled with joint venture “tricks of the trade”. Since I’ve already done a joint venture with Joel Comm and Eric Holmlund, I actually had something of value to share. If you haven’t picked up the $7 product - click here to check it out.
JV Alert Live was an extremely valuable seminar. I’ll be going again and I recommend others try it out. Like I mentioned, the crowd was very supportive but not only while I was on stage, I was in Orlando by myself and I never ate alone nor did I ever feel lonely.
I knew almost nothing about Internet Marketing before I went to Colorado this past summer for The Next Internet Millionaire.
And, after spending 2 weeks listening to the experts on the Secret classroom…I QUIT MY JOB!
Yes, that’s right, I quit. I quit and confidently started my own business. And I could never have done it without the advice and teachings of the proven successful Internet Marketing geniuses.
Guys like:
Mark Joyner
Armand Morin
Jeff Walker
Marlon Sanders
Mike Koenigs
Brad Fallon
Kris Jones
Mike Filsaime
Ray Edwards
Dave Taylor
Perry Marshall
Rich Schefren
Very cool guys! And very smart.
The best part was that they didn’t spend their time with us “pitching” their products. They taught us what they know.
Only 2 Next Internet Millionaire contestants were lucky enough to hear every single one of these guys speak - and I was one of them.
I am the WINNER of The Next Internet Millionaire BECAUSE of these guys!
Listening to what experts have to say is absolutely gold. They’ve already made it - they’re already successful and rich! Why try to rebuild the wheel?
The Secret Classroom was life-changing for me! I used to be so unhappy - so frustrated - knowing that I had so many ideas - but not knowing how to implement them. How to make them into something that could be monetary.
I have thousands of ideas now - viable ideas - money-making ideas!
The Secret Classroom is being offered at $497 - which is an insanely good deal.
I spent two weeks in Colorado (all expenses paid), but I lost the time off work, which was significantly more than $497 - and, like I said, I wouldn’t trade that time with those experts for anything. Seriously, just think about it… can you afford NOT to join the Secret Classroom?
Do you want to:
Learn from 12 Internet Marketing geniuses from the comfort of your own home?
Not have your brain overwhelmed by listening to speaker after speaker like the experiences of seminars?
Avoid wasting your time listening & hoping for viable information from a speaker while all they’re doing is giving you a sales pitch?
Get out of your rut?
Get proven worthy information that has actually been used to make people millionaires?
Get invited into the same life-changing experiences that the 12 contestants of The Next Internet Millionaire were offered?
Plus… if you click on any link to the Secret Classroom from this page, or go to www.JaimeLuchuck.com/secretclassroom and buy the Secret Classroom, I will send you a FREE, AUTOGRAPHED copy of my book, From Cubicle Slave to the Next Internet Millionaire, which was number 1 on Amazon in two business categories.
I will also enter you in a draw to receive a FREE membership into my course, Success in 12 Weeks. Success in 12 Weeks is a program where I have, through my contacts with Joel Comm, enticed 12 Internet Marketing experts to teach everyone involved exactly how to build a successful online business. (PS: if you’re already a member of Success in 12 Weeks and you win this prize, I will refund your initial purchase of the program.)
I thought I’d answer all in emails in one shot - here on my blog.
First let me say, it’s EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to get published. What I’ve learned from my experience in the publishing industry is that it IS all about who you know OR what you have done in the past.
I’ve written 6 full length feature screenplays and one fiction novel - none of which are produced or published. Why?? Well, because I’ve never had work published so no one wants to take that first risk. Catch-22 - and I hate it.
I completely understand where the publishers are coming from. They received thousands of proposals a year - that’s a lot to sort through. And, probably, a bunch of it is crap.
When you know you’re a good writer, this can be unbelievable frustrating. I kept thinking “Just open it for f’s sake!”, “Just read it for 5 minutes!”.
But they don’t. And that’s the business.
And, unfortunately, the only advice I can give people is to keep pushing forward by trying to get their work read. I’m sorry that’s all I have to say, I wish I had more profound advice.
So, how did I get my book published??
I met David Hancock of Morgan James Publishing when I was on The Next Internet Millionaire. You see, I finally got to the “it’s WHO you know”. And they published my book.
Morgan James Publishing is one of the publishing house that charge some authors to publish with them.
I know it’s not the way people dream of publishing. We’ve been led to believe that authors are like Stephen King or JK Rowlings… super-rich with huge advances for every book. I bet THEY don’t pay to publish their own books.
So, you can try to get your book published through an agent - with a huge publisher. You can try those odds. But, you should be aware that many books are published through publishers who charge to publish. This way their costs are covered if your book doesn’t do diddly-squat. The silver lining is that it does force you to focus on helping out with the marketing.
I recommend getting published, whatever way you can. I can’t tell you what an amazing feeling it is to see the final product of your book with your name on it. It’s crazy!
Plus, think about it this way… after you are published once - doors can open.
Hey Guys… check out this article written by Pamela Cowan for the Regina Leader Post, birth-town newspaper. Pretty cool!
EX-REGINAN WINS ONLINE GAME SHOW
Pamela Cowan, The Leader-Post
Published: Friday, November 23, 2007
Jaime Luchuck got closer to fame and fortune after winning The Next Internet Millionaire — the world’s first online reality show.
Luchuck was among 12 competitors who faced Internet marketing challenges on the American reality show. Dubbed The Apprentice Meets YouTube, the show involved the weakest member being eliminated every week and sent home.
When the final episode was shot last Friday, the former Reginan faced off against YouTube celebrity Charles Trippy. To win, Luchuck’s online sales of her book, From Cubicle Slave to the Next Internet Millionaire, had to trump the sales of a video series Trippy created.
“He made a video series about how to make videos and how to make them popular,” Luchuck said. “He is one of 50 people that YouTube actually pays to make videos and he has quite a following so I was definitely the underdog.”
In the final judgment room, Luchuck’s confidence started slipping as host Joel Comm focused on Trippy’s success. But in the end Luchuck triumphed for selling $70,000 worth of her product compared with Trippy’s $39,000.
“I was quite surprised when I was announced,” Luchuck said. “We had gone on a hot air balloon ride over Colorado earlier that day, I guess they were thinking of stuff that we could do, and he had brought his girlfriend and he’d proposed to her in the hot air balloon and she accepted … Luckily he got something and I got something.”
Although the show was named The Next Internet Millionaire, Luchuck won a briefcase stuffed with $25,000 in addition to a third of the sales from her book.
“All of the people who taught on the show, these 12 experts, are multi-millionaires over and over again and what they are teaching you is the capability to do this,” Luchuck said. “And our joint venture doesn’t stop. Since the deadline when I sold $70,000, I’ve sold about $25,000 more and the books will go into bookstores and they’ll get some promotion so it will keep going. I think that $25,000 is just pocket change and we’re going to keep climbing.”
The downside of her newfound fame is an unexpected backlash from people she’d previously thought of as friends.
“It’s very disconcerting to read bad things about yourself online,” Luchuck said. “If you’re on a show I guess you’re fodder for everyone’s comments so I’ll have to develop a thick skin. It’s not like I’m Brad Pitt or Angelina Jolie. I don’t think I’d want to be so famous that people would be stalking me and following my every move.”
Since her win, she has had job offers in the United States but plans to remain in Toronto for now and run her company.
“My next step is to teach my family how to do what I’m doing because I’ve learned so much and I want to help them all,” she said.
She’ll start by helping her brother Ryan Luchuck, whose Toronto band has played gigs in Regina.
“He’s opened up a singing studio and teaches, so together we’re going to use my skills and his skills and develop some products to help people learn to sing online,” Luchuck said.
Wow – the week is finally over… and I’ve survived my very first product launch.
If you didn’t know I wrote a book… forget what you just read, and keep reading.
Guess what everybody?? I wrote a book!
Yes… I’M PUBLISHED! It’s very cool.
My book is called: From Cubicle Slave to the Next Internet Millionaire.
Why?
Well, after I was a contestant on The Next Internet Millionaire – I quit my job. Yup, I worked in communications, went in every day 9 to 5… 9 to 5… 9 to 5. No work to do? I was still chained to my desk. Wanted a vacation day… I had to beg and plead.
I h-a-t-e-d that.
My book tells my story of how I “escaped” the cube and shares my secrets and tips. It also gives you access to everything I learned from proven experts who taught on The Next Internet Millionaire: Mark Joyner, Armand Morin, Jeff Walker, Marlon Sanders, Mike Koenigs, Brad Fallon, Kris Jones, Mike Filsaime, Ray Edwards, Dave Taylor, Perry Marshall and Rich Schefren. Those are pretty big guys (not literally)!
Anyway, the book hit #1 on Amazon.com in two business categories and #2 in another – pretty cool.
It’s a great, entertaining read – with lots of valuable information.
And it’s great way to give yourself a kick in the butt, and who doesn’t need that? And remember, the holidays are coming up… and this book would make a great gift!
Well, today is the last day of The Next Internet Millionaire final challenge - and, may I say… “finally”.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s not as though I haven’t enjoyed the ride. It’s been crazy - and I love crazy. I’m just looking forward to thinking about something else… or seeing my friends… or talking to my family. Just kidding, it hasn’t been THAT crazy.
But it’s been a huge learning experience - as well as A LOT OF FUN!
I got to write a book AND have it published! The writing part I’ve done before, but I’ve never been to the publishing phase and, thanks to David Hancock and his team at Made Easy Publishing, I’ll always be able to call myself a “published author” - very cool.
And I also get to host a webinar series where I get to LEARN from 12 experts (some from The Next Internet Millionaire and some brand new). They’re going to teach me and everybody who joins exactly how to create a successful online business. Again - very cool. It’s certainly something I need to learn.
I quit my job to work on these products for The Next Internet Millionaire product launch - so I better learn how to best work online in the future, or I’ll be waiting in line at the soup kitchen
Anyway, the competition between me and the other finalist ends at noon on Wednesday November 14, so if you haven’t bought a copy of my book, From Cubicle Slave to the Next Internet Millionaire (www.cubicletomillionaire.com) you should get your butt over to the website.
The same goes with the webinar series, Success in 12 Weeks (www.successin12weeks.com) - I learned so much from my hands-on time with the experts who taught on The Next Internet Millionaire - I can’t even tell you how valuable that was.
Check the products out - and thanks for the support!
Okay – I can finally blurt out my secret… I am a finalist on the Next Internet Millionaire reality show. Crazy – I know… but true.
I have been holding in my secret since the beginning of August when I got back from Colorado where the show was shot. And it was not an easy secret to keep… although it WAS fun listening to everybody’s guesses and reading the forums while people dissed me. BTW – thank you to everybody who DID support me.
I can break my silence!
Creating products was unbelievably fun. And the week leading up to the launch made Starbuck A LOT of money. I was drinking a few lattes a day. BTW – if you never want to sleep, I suggest that method. A great caffeine buzz – and sharp brainpower (I hope).
Anyway, I’m going to run a book promotion contest, so keep checking back. You won’t want to miss it.
In the meantime – please promote my book to everyone you know. I really want to win this competition. And it’s a really good book.
Check out my videos:
I want to thank my brother, Ryan Luchuck, for the use of his music in my videos… thanks Ry (even though you have no idea yet - again with the secrets). Check out his music.
Trying to be an actress is hard. Here’s the Catch-22: If you don’t have a good agent you can’t get quality work – but, unless you already have a body of quality work, you can’t get a good agent. Nice, huh?
When I was an actress, I landed many parts in short indie films. Here’s the problem. Some wanted me naked (not going to happen). Some lost their budget. Some just had really crappy scripts. And it always seemed like they wanted to shoot at the same time so I lost parts to scheduling conflicts.
But managing to land a part and shoot the film didn’t guarantee that you’d get a final copy of the movie. So many production companies never finished editing the movie. They’d run out of money. Again, nice, huh?
My biggest acting role to date is in the feature-film, Heartland Son. It was the official selection of the New York International Independent Film Festival, the Los Angeles International Independent Film Festival and the Asheville Film Festival – that’s a lot of festivals.
Check out the trailer (2 minutes)…
Originally my part, Sadie, called for a dark-haired vixen – and I was very willing to dye my hair. But they loved the new blonde Sadie – and I was cast.I had so much fun playing Sadie. Nobody likes her – she’s the bad girl. Playing a bad girl is far more fun than playing a good girl. More about Heartland Son.
And, hey, buy the movie – watch me freeze my butt off in skimpy clothes!
Thanks for coming to my website… and for reading my very first blog post.
I put this Jaime Luchuck website up on October 23rd and it’s only going to get bigger. More videos, more products, more info.
Make sure you don’t forget to put your name on my subscriber list before you leave – that way I can keep you updated of major changes. You won’t want to miss them.
And let me know what you think of this site. My email is info@jaimeluchuck.com and I always like to hear from people. Just make sure you spell my name right (it’s JAIME not JAMIE) or you’ll never find me. And I’ll never know what you think.
Here’s a bit of info about me… I’m a writer, actor and entrepreneur. I love to travel. I’ve been to the Dominican Republic, Barbados, Puerto Rico, Mexico… Can you see a trend here? I love the sun. Even though my skin is fluorescent white (and burns instantaneously), I soak it up. I just prep for all holidays by getting a fake tan and packing a huge bottle of SPF 45.
In Canada (where I live), I don’t need to use much of that sunscreen. Although we don’t live in igloos, we do get pretty cold winters. I grew up in Regina (yeah, I know what it rhymes with), Saskatchewan. There are a lot of farmers in Saskatchewan, but I lived in the “big city”. Regina has about 175,000 people – and for Saskatchewan, that is big. So my home town wasn’t big, but it was big enough that there were a lot schools, etc. – we didn’t know everybody in the city.
Then I moved to Calgary, Alberta (by Banff and the Canadian Rocky Mountains). Calgary is a beautiful city – but it doesn’t have a big city feel. You have to have a car and it’s all malls and stuff. I like the big city.
So I moved to Toronto. And that’s where I’ve stayed… until someone will give me a visa???
Anyway, so that’s a bit about me. Like I mentioned earlier, I have big plans for this website. I just wanted to get it up now – since I’m the only Next Internet Millionaire contestant to not have a site. So check out the site – and subscribe so you’ll find out what I’m up to next.
